A 28-year-old worker was electrocuted this morning (Jan. 4) after he accidentally touched a live wire while cleaning the walls of a building along Lacson-Galo Streets in Bacolod City.
The victim was identified as Saner Perez of Galo-Lopez Jaena Streets, Barangay 28, Bacolod City, a report from the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office said.
Perez, who was cleaning the walls of the building with his brother, accidentally touched the live main line of CENECO and fell on the improvised bamboo scaffolding.
Members of the Emergency Medical Services team of the CDRRMO tried to revive Perez before rushing him to Corazon Locsin Memorial Regional Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.
Peter Sanchez of EMS-CDRRMO said it took them 45 minutes to retrieve the body from the scaffolding as they have to wait for CENECO to shutdown the main line in the area.—MML
