A 10-year-old boy drowned while swimming along the shoreline of Purok Maaswa in Barangay General Luna, Toboso, Negros Occidental on April 27.
The body of the victim, a Grade 4 student, was found floating and he was declared dead on arrival at the rural health clinic.
Based on the initial police investigation, the boy went swimming alone after having lunch with his family members.
On April 24, a 12-year-old boy also drowned while swimming at the Reclamation Area in Barangay 1 Poblacion, Pontevedra.
The victim and his friends, who are also minors, encountered a strong current, according to police investigation. | GB
