GMA-7’s nature documentary show, “Born to be Wild”, on Friday released a male monitor lizard named “Victor” at the Gawahon Eco Park in Victorias City in coordination with the City Veterinary Office and City Environment and Natural Resources Office.
The city government and the team of host Dr. Nielsen Donato facilitated the transfer of “Victor”, which was found by resident Jebert Lecita in Bandong, Barangay VII on Feb. 6.
Lecita turned over the monitor lizard to VCENRO, which brought it to the City Veterinary Hospital for a comprehensive physical examination.

Following the medical evaluation conducted by Donato and city veterinarian Dr. John Michael Cabuguason, “Victor” was found exhibiting optimal health and readiness to be released back into the wild.
“Victor” was released near the falls, back to his original habitat.
Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez showed his support for the initiative and joined the team during the transfer of “Victor”, a statement from the City Public Information Office said. ||
