Jan Marie Bordon, Bacolod City’s candidate to this year’s Miss Universe Philippines pageant, has received praises for making it to the Top 10 during the grand coronation May 13.
“Bordon is a testament that our sweet smiles can, indeed, conquer even the toughest battles,” the Miss Bacolod MassKara said in a post May 14. “She knows what she wants, and did everything she can to get it. Our dark horse that took the national stage by surprise.”
The organizer of the first-ever Miss Bacolod MassKara in 2022, where Bordon won as Miss Bacolod MassKara-International, said that she has paved the way for Bacolodnon beauties to earn the confidence to compete in national stages, adding they are excited to see her career flourish even more.

The La Consolacion College Bacolod also issued a congratulatory message for Bordon. “Our very own Jan Marie has proven that she’s a force to be reckoned with! We are so proud that she made it to the Top 10 of the highly competitive pageant.”
Her incredible talent, grace, and elegance were on full display throughout the competition. As a BS Tourism Management student from the LCCB School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Jan Marie embodies the values of excellence, hard work, and determination that the school instills in all its students, it added.
Makati’s Michelle Dee was crowned the 2023 Miss Universe Philippines, with Pauline Amelinckx of Bohol as Miss Supranational Philippines, and Krishnah Gravidez of Baguio as Miss Charm Philippines./CGC
