Bodies of 2 missing teens found in Sagay

The bodies of the two teenagers reported missing while swimming in a river in Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Jan. 9 were found on Sunday (Jan. 11), according to the Philippine Coast Guard.

The fatalities were both males, aged 15 and 16.

One of the bodies was found around 10 a.m. along the riverbank in Purok Jordan, Barangay Fabrica while the other one was found in a separate area past 5 p.m.

Their bodies were positively identified by their families, the Coast Guard Northern Negros Occidental Station said.

The two boys were part of a group of 10 youngsters who went swimming since one of them was celebrating his birthday.

Three of them were swept away by the strong river current, but only one was rescued immediately. | GB
