The whole of Victorias City and EB Magalona, and portion of Manapla, all serviced by the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative, are still without electricity, as of 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Noneco, in its advisory earlier, said its “technical support team…is continuously facilitating technical solutions, in accordance with the procedures of our 15 MVA Victorias substation”.

It added that based on its evaluation, “the full energization of our 15 MVA Victorias substation may be possible; however, it will be at risk on the remaining connected equipment, considering that we must first ensure the safety and accuracy of our whole technical system”.

Noneco said it is presently facilitating the possible loadshift of the 5MVA Manapla substation to service the government offices of Victorias, Manapla, and EB Magalona, and all the branch offices of the electric cooperative.

“Rest assured that Noneco is doing its best to resolve this concern,” its advisory added but was mum on when power will resume.

The massive outage started morning of Aug. 29 due to the tripping of a power transformer at the height of Typhoon Goring, and resumption of electricity remains uncertain, to date./CGC
