The dream for a Bacolod General Hospital was realized after President Rodrigo Duterte signed its establishment into law as Republic Act 11564 in June, with an initial funding allocation of P600 million under the 2022 General Appropriations Act.
House Bill No. 6731 was filed by Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya and approved in the House of Representatives, while Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri authored Senate Bill No. 1647, and committed an additional P200 million to start the construction of the hospital this year. /CGC
