A crowd of about 70,000 is expected to gather at the BREDCO Reclamation Area in Bacolod City Feb. 23 for the grand rally of the UniTeam of presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos Jr. and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, staunch supporter of Marcos, said it will be a “red and green afternoon” in Bacolod as supporters of the UniTeam coming from the north and south Negros will start converging at Bredco after lunch.

The team’s senatorial candidates will also join the event, and will arrive ahead of Marcos to give campaign speeches starting at 5 p.m.

Ferrer said that Bacolod mayoral aspirant Alfredo Benitez is expected to attend the grand rally since he already expressed support to Marcos.

Several officials of Bacolod are also expected at the event since a lot of them are supporters of Duterte-Carpio, he added.

A meeting was held Saturday by the organizers and they agreed to gather the supporters from different areas through individual cars, or by bus and trucks.

The southern group will have a motorcade from Bago City, and the northern-based supporters will start in Silay City.

Ferrer said that more local chief executives expressed support to the UniTeam, and they numbered more than 85 percent of the mayors and vice mayors of Negros Occidental. — MML
