The Bago City Health Office (CHO) has achieved a historic milestone Sept. 2 after it was officially licensed as a primary care facility (PCF).

It is the 11th PCF in Negros Occidental, and the 25th among local government unit (LGU)-owned PCFs in the Negros Island Region.

As a PCF, the CHO can now provide a wider range of comprehensive healthcare services, including a birthing facility, a Level 2 clinical laboratory, dental services, minor surgery, a pharmacy, ambulance operations, and X-ray services, through a memorandum of understanding, the city said.

Bago Mayor Mayette Javellana, whose administration is committed to providing accessible and quality healthcare for all Bagonhons, expressed her deep appreciation to the CHO personnel.

“Thank you for all of your hard work. We couldn’t have done this without your sacrifices, your passion, your love for what you do, and your dedication to the service that you took oath,” she added during the official announcement, made by DOH-RLED Negros Island Region Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance Section (RCQAS) head, Dr. Anna Andrea Libo-on, together with licensing officer II and PCF focal person Gerald Escalera.

Libo-on congratulated the city government, saying the licensing ensures that Bagonhons are receiving topnotch healthcare from the CHO.

It also validates the competence and dedication of the city’s healthcare professionals and further positions Bago as a leader in healthcare delivery in the province, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to providing accessible, quality healthcare for all Bagonhons.

“This is the fruit of our labor, and we are thankful for the direction of the administration in prioritizing healthcare among its constituents,” CHO head, Dr. Ferdinand Ramon Mayoga, said at the event also attended by Councilor Leonilo del Carmen, chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Health. ||
