Bacolod City registered a new record after topping the third leg of the National Vaccination Drive (NVD) in Western Visayas, with the highest number of vaccinees, percentage wise.
The city also jabbed the most number of minors at 539 on Day One of the vaccination rollout for five to 11 years old on Feb. 14, Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy director of the Emergency Operations Center-Task Force said.
Dr. Edwin Miraflor Jr., officer-in-charge of the City Health Office, said the EOC-TF and the local COVID-19 Vaccination Council, achieved a 66.98 percent accomplishment rate by inoculating 22,949 Bacolodnons from Feb. 9-15.
The figure brings the team closer to the 34,265 target set by the Department of Health 6, Miraflor said in a press release from the city Feb. 17.
Coming in second in the Western Visayas ranking is Capiz with a 54.70 percent accomplishment record, Negros Occidental, 43.34 percent; Iloilo Province, 37.43 percent; Aklan, 33.62 percent; Antique, 31.61 percent; Guimaras, 28.69 percent; and Iloilo City, 20.09 percent. — NND
