The highly-urbanized cities of Bacolod and Iloilo are the two local government units in Western Visayas under the moderate risk classification, while the provinces in the region got a low risk tag, except for Aklan that is in minimal risk.
Dr. Daphynie Teorima, DOH-Western Visayas Center for Health Development medical officer, said during a virtual presser today, Oct. 25, that Bacolod remains in Alert Level 4, while Iloilo City is under Alert Level 3.
This is due to the density of population and as the economic centers of the region, Teorima said.

As of today, Bacolod City has 1,712 COVID-19 active cases.
Negros Occidental remains under the low risk classification, for the second week now, and under Alert Level 2.
Areas under Alert Level 2 are those with low and decreasing case transmission, low healthcare utilization, but with reported cases of the Delta variant.
Areas under Alert Level 4 are those with huge case count and high healthcare utilization rate.
While Negros Occidental and Bacolod registered highest healthcare utilization at 67.54 percent and 73.84 percent, respectively, compared to other areas in the region, Teorima said this was an improvement from previous weeks.
She added that the Average Daily Attack Rate for Negros Occidental further went down 5.16 percent per 100,000 population, as of today, from 8.28 percent last week.
The 2-week growth rate of COVID-19 in the province was recorded at negative 38 percent.
The COVID attack rate of Bacolod also decreased to 16.17 percent per 100,000 population from 22.56 percent the previous weeks, Teorima said. – GB
