Bacolodnon racing pride Manuel “Boodgie” Chua Jr. has captured two major trophies during the recent race weekend at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.
Chua, the 43-year-old founder and driver of the BKC Racing Team, steered his way to victory by winning the Track Attack Challenge Group 1 during the Petron Philippine Motorsport Championship on July 25.
Demonstrating consistent mastery behind the wheel, Chua followed up the stellar performance the very next day by securing a hard-fought second place finish in the Unlimited Class Circuit Attack.
The BKC Racing Team burst onto the Philippine motorsports scene as an ambitious rookie squad in April 2024 at the Full Throttle Weekend.
Defying expectations, the team clinched the Prestige Class victory in their debut competitive outing.
They carried that momentum through the entire 2024 season, landing podium finishes across six championship rounds and securing second overall in the Track Attack Challenge, a feat that earned them the prestigious Golden Wheel Award.
However, the team’s rise hit a major roadblock in 2025 when a severe racing accident forced them to withdraw from competition. The devastating crash required extensive car repairs, sidelining the Bacolod-based crew for more than a year.
Refusing to let the setback define them, the team of Chua channeled the hardship into fuel for their return.
“It was one of the most difficult periods in our journey, but it also strengthened our character and reinforced our commitment to the sport,” the BKC racing team said in a statement.
