Bacolod City’s celebration of the National Arts Month 2025 officially opened Feb. 24 at Ayala Malls Capitol Central, marking the beginning of a five-day showcase of artistry, culture, and craftsmanship.
Leading the opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting were councilors Em Ang and Jason Villarosa, alongside chief tourism operations officer Ma. Teresa Manalili and city planning development officer Jean Ramos.
They were joined by several Bacolod-based artists, who graced the event with their presence and participation.

The opening program was enriched by the performances of Coro Bacoleno, the City Chorale, and the country’s youngest pianist, the exceptionally talented Eliel Chadd Taguines, a press release from the Bacolod Tourism Office said Feb. 25.
Their musical renditions captivated the audience, setting the tone for an inspiring weeklong celebration of creativity and artistic expression.
One of the highlights of the event was the live portrait painting and live weaving demonstrations, offering attendees a firsthand experience of the artistry and skill involved in these crafts.
Guests also had the opportunity to participate in a free facemask painting activity, where they could unleash their creativity and bring home their own personalized designs.

The event also featured an arts and crafts merchandise display, showcasing unique handmade products crafted by Bacolod’s talented artisans.
Among the exhibitors were NACI, Artisticrew, Flora Botanica, Joey Cabiles Tattoo Group, Arthur’s Pottery, Vivo Handmade, Bacolod Showroom, MaiJa Arts and Crafts, Daily Paintures, Mix Art Souvenir, LJ’s Threaded Dreams, Be Knotty, CECO Studio, KyouMai, Cole.tura Arts and Crafts, Her.She, and the LCCB Senior High School.
Additionally, Bacolod-based artists exhibited their artworks at the activity center, providing the public with a glimpse of the city’s diverse and thriving creative community.
The National Arts Month 2025 celebration in Bacolod will run until Feb. 28, with a lineup of activities, including fashion showcases, pottery workshops, dance workshops, and a grand cultural show.
The event is a collaborative effort between the city government of Bacolod, the Bacolod City Tourism Office, and Ayala Malls Capitol Central, in celebration of this year’s celebration theme, “Ani ng Sining, Diwa at Damdamin”. | Bacolod Tourism Office photos
