The SSC Award aims to honor LGUs that champion science, technology, and innovation (STI) in addressing local development challenges, enhancing public services, and building resilient, inclusive, and sustainable communities.

Bacolod’s nomination reflects its dynamic efforts in promoting smart governance and sustainable urban development, the DOST-NIR said in a press release. “DOST-NIR congratulates the City of Bacolod for this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to supporting its ongoing efforts toward becoming a more sustainable and technologically empowered city.”

The iSCENE 2025, organized by the DOST, in collaboration with the Isabela LGU, brought together leaders from government, industry, and the business sector to foster collaboration in building smarter and more sustainable communities, the Bacolod D-LEDIP said.

From May 22-24, the event featured a variety of activities, including expert-led discussions on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in disaster management, smart mobility, and sustainable urban development.

Bacolod’s active involvement highlights its ongoing commitment to advancing science, technology, and innovation as it moves forward in its vision of becoming a smart, sustainable, and super city, the D-LEDIP said. ||
