Bacolod lawyer dies

Lawyer Lyndon Caña, 56, considered one of the brightest and fearless leaders of Bacolod City, died Thursday night, Nov. 4,  in a private hospital after he was brought in for COVID-19 infection, his church mate, Bacolod Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, said.

Caña was a civic and religious leader, and his church mates prayed for his fast recovery from the coronavirus.

He won as city councilor of Bacolod in 2001 and 2004, and was described by colleagues as highly independent and fearless, but reasonable.

Followers and friends exchanged messages of sympathies on social media today after the news of his passing circulated.

Caña was a local leader of Bangon Pilipinas, and fought to transform the nation through the principle of love for God and country. — MML
