Mayor Greg Gasataya led the launching Sept. 18 of the e-kiosk system at the Office of the Building Official (OBO), which will digitalize the processing of both building and occupancy permits.
This online system in applying for permits from OBO would do away with face-to-face transactions and eliminate fixers, Gasataya said in a statement. “Sugod pa lang ini, we have more work to be done to digitalize and make our government processes more effective and efficient.”
This system enables applicants to register, submit requirements, and track progress online, the city said. “This is part of the city’s effort to implement a ‘no face-to-face policy’ in government transactions, aimed at eliminating fixers and enhancing service speed and transparency.”

Not only will there be no face-to-face requirements, but the system also ensures efficiency and transparency, Gasataya said. “Our goal is to make things easier for the business sector while removing old practices.”
He noted that minimal in-person steps are retained to allow OBO staff to verify the official seal of submitted documents.
Those applying for a building permit should register online via [https://tinyurl.com/BCDOBOONLINE](https://tinyurl.com/BCDOBOONLINE), and upload the application to obtain a barcode. The OBO will review the documents for completeness online, and if incomplete, a notice of deficiency will be issued, until all requirements are complied with, before the required fees could be paid. The building permit would then be approved and released.

Gasataya assured residents that the system is user-friendly, designed to be as simple as using a cellphone, even for those who are not tech-savvy. ||
