The Maritime Industry Authority clarified that only Western Visayas residents will be allowed to go on board fastcraft trips between Bacolod City and Iloilo City, which will resume starting Oct. 31.
The city governments of Bacolod and Iloilo already authorized the resumption of fastcraft trips, MARINA Regional Director
Jose Venancio Vero said.
Vero said that Ocean Jet and Weesam Express will resume their trips on 31, and SuperCat on Nov. 1.
He said that the schedules were agreed during the meeting of operators last Oct. 23.
Frank Carbon, Weesam Express operator, said they will submit their detailed schedules to MARINA next week.
Vero disclosed that each fastcraft will have one round trip schedule per day, adding that it maybe increased based on passenger traffic.
He reminded fastcraft operators to strictly observe health protocols, adding that fare rates remain the same until further notice. GPB
