Bacolod City has finalized preparations for the national Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) Games from May 9-16, with around 12,000 delegates from across the country.
“This is another milestone in our thrust to promote sports tourism in Bacolod,” Mayor Greg Gasataya said in a statement May 4 after a meeting with PRISAA Games 2026 president Mark Molina and PRISAA-NIR executive director Jake Mercado, together with key city department heads at the Bacolod Government Center yesterday.
He said the city will provide P1 million in financial assistance, alongside comprehensive logistical support, including transportation, playing venues, billeting areas, traffic management, and security augmentation for the athletes, coaching staff, and other officials.

“Our hope is that this event will provide a significant boost to our local vendors, transport sector, and small businesses, while bringing the national stage closer to our homegrown athletes,” the mayor stressed.
“Providing a home for the National PRISAA Games is part of our commitment to establishing Bacolod as a premier center for sports development and to promoting sports tourism in our city,” he added.
Molina, meanwhile, thanked the city’s overwhelming support to the national academic and sports event. ||
