The JCI-THOS, or Junior Chamber International – Ten Outstanding Students, awards is a recognition program that celebrates young individuals, who excel not only in academics, but also in leadership, communication, community involvement, and values-driven service.

It shines a light on students who are already making a difference and showing great promise as future leaders of their communities, the city said.

The recognition ceremony served as a reminder that Bacolod’s future is bright because its young people continue to prove that excellence, discipline, compassion, and leadership are alive in this generation.

Mayor Greg Gasataya expressed his support and admiration for all the awardees and finalists, and stressed the importance of nurturing young Bacolodnons, whose talent, character, and commitment to service can help shape a better city for all.

“Aton ginapasidunggan ang kabataan nga may handum, prinsipyo, kag dedikasyon sa pagserbisyo. Their achievements inspire not only their schools and families, but the entire city,” he said. “To all the finalists and awardees, your city sees you, celebrates you, and believes in what you can become. May you continue to lead with purpose, serve with heart, and use your gifts to help build a stronger, smarter, and more compassionate Bacolod. ||
