Bacolod fire damage at P13.2M

A fire caused an estimated P13.2 million in damage to a commercial establishment along 23rd-Lacson Streets in Bacolod City on Saturday (June 15) afternoon, the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) reported.

The fire incident at the Outdoor Master Complex affected five establishments, of which three had been destroyed while two others were damaged.

No one was hurt in the blaze, which was reported to the BFP at 1:49 p.m. and declared as fire out at 2:16 p.m.

Firefighters try to control the fire at the ancestral house of Mayor Renato Gustilo and neighboring iconic Chinese school in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

The cause of fire has yet to be established by BFP investigators.

Meanwhile, a former school janitor is now under the custody of the police in connection with the fire incident on June 14 along Ylagan Street in San Carlos City, which also gutted the ancestral house of Mayor Renato Gustilo.

The fire destroyed the iconic Chinese school funded by the Chinese-Filipino Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The estimated damage has yet to be determined. | GB
