The Social Action Center of the Diocese of Bacolod will launch tomorrow, Oct. 21, a nonpartisan multi-sectoral movement that aims to empower the different sectors on the democratic processes, in line with the 2022 Presidential and Local Elections.

SAC director, Fr. Chris Gonzales, said the diocese’s different commissions and the Bacolod Youth for Democracy, or BaCod, will launch the “Gugma Banwa (GuBan)” movement, an inclusive, independent, loose, multi-sectoral group in Negros Occidental that envisions to empower the youth through voters’ education.

GuBan also aims to encourage participation in the democratic procedure before and during elections.

The presentation of the concept will start at 10 a.m. at the lobby of the Bishop’s House beside the San Sebastian Cathedral in downtown Bacolod. — MML
