More than P2 million worth of suspected shabu were confiscated by the police from two arrested drug peddlers during a buy-bust in Purok Langis, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

The suspects Rachell Sampayan, 23, and Echero Baldelovar, 24, both residents of Bacolod City, were categorized as high value individual drug personalities.

Their apprehension by members of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) City Drug Enforcement Unit yielded 315 grams of suspected shabu valued at P2.142 million.

On Aug. 27, the police seized P111,000 worth of suspected shabu from four arrested drug suspects in Negros Occidental, three of whom were accounted for by the BCPO.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director of Western Visayas, lauded the BCPO and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office for their successful and relentless operations against illegal drugs.

“As long as there are persons engaging in illegal drugs, our operations continue. May these arrests serve as a stern warning to those involved in the illegal trade to cease. If they opt to continue, surely they will end up in jail,” Wanky said. | GB
