The Bacolod government is eyeing a P5 billion budget for 2027, or roughly a six percent increase from the P4.75-billion approved appropriation this year.
Councilor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Appropriations and Finance, said the City Budget Office and the City Mayor’s Office are responsible for adjusting and balancing fund requests to ensure that they align with the city’s sources of funds.
“This is still tentative and not yet final. The final estimate will be determined once it is officially submitted to the SP,” Sayson said.
He said that department heads typically request standard, incremental increases over the current budget.
He added that the proposed budget remains subject to change as the proposal undergoes further review, trimming, and deliberation before the city’s final spending plan for 2027 is officially approved. | TMD
