Bacolod City cited for housing program

The City of Bacolod has received an Excellence Award from Pag-IBIG Fund for its strong support to the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) housing program, reaffirming its commitment to expanding homeownership opportunities.

The award was given Feb. 27, during the Pag-IBIG Fund’s Chairman’s Report 2024 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.

Bacolod Housing Authority department head Victoria Parreñas accepted the award on behalf of the city, alongside representatives from Scheirman Group, the private partner of the city government in implementing the housing projects under the 4PH program.

Mayor Alfredo Benitez welcomed the recognition, and stressed the city’s continued efforts to provide affordable and sustainable housing for its residents.

The 4PH flagship program of the Marcos administration addresses the country’s housing needs by making homeownership more accessible, the city said in a press release, adding that Bacolod remains a key partner in this effort and will work to create more housing opportunities for Bacolodnons.

The city thanked Pag-IBIG Fund for the recognition and vowed to remain committed to advancing housing initiatives for its people. ||
