Tracy Mae Sunio of Bacolod City won as second runner-up at the 62nd Binibining Pilipinas coronation night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum July 18.
Sunio, 25, was among the 36 candidates who competed during the national pageant.
She was first runner-up in the Miss Bacolod MassKara 2023, and also participated in the national pageant in 2024.
During the final question and answer portion, Sunio spoke about her personal platform focused on holistic elderly wellness, noting that the cause became central to her after the passing of her father.
“I am the kind of person who thinks about the future a lot, and what I can do now to make my future better, and I envision a future where I can help people,” Sunio said.
“My advocacy is holistic elderly wellness and this is something that is close to my heart because when my father died a few months ago, I experienced firsthand how hard it is to be able to take care of our elderly, and at the same time, provide for them. And what I envision in the future is to extend my arm, and be able to help our elderly to make them feel that they are cared for, and that there are people who think about them. And Binibining Pilipinas is something that will help me with my advocacy,” she added.
Gwendoline Meliz Soriano of Baguio City was crowned Binibining Pilipinas International, while Sasha-Juli Belle Lacuna from Tarlac was named Binibining Pilipinas Globe, and Julianne Raine Antonio of Dumaguete City was first runner-up. | TMD
