Third year Tourism and Hospital Management students of the University of St. La Salle initiated AVIÓN: Creating Wings for your Dreams, May 20, as part of the requirements in their class in “Introduction to Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Events Management”.
Held at L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City, the event was led by Ryle Kayden Sarmiento, under the guidance of their class adviser, Mary Grace Gonzales.
“AVIÓN: Creating Wings for your Dreams” is a conference that aims to inspire and equip aspiring flight attendants with the knowledge and skills they need to pursue a fulfilling career in the aviation industry.
Its mission is to provide a platform for individuals to gain a deeper understanding of the profession and its requirements, while its vision is to become the premier conference for aspiring flight attendants by providing top-notch education and demonstrations to develop the skills and knowledge required for success in the industry.
Aspiring flight attendants from different areas in Negros Occidental had the opportunity to learn from three industry practitioners: Riah De Ocampo, Debbie Oca, and Jen Barangan. The three speakers covered various topics related to being a flight attendant, including the interview process, do’s and don’ts, professional development, safety and security, and customer service.
The event was hosted by Edmark Luis Monotilla, and was attended, among others, by Bacolod Councilor Jason Villarosa, chairperson of the sanggunian Committee on Tourism; Tere Manalili, chief tourism operations officer of Bacolod City; Cheryl Decena, tourism officer of Negros Occidental; and Nelrose Cornelio, tourism operations officer of Negros Occidental.
Through the event, the class aimed to recognize the M.I.C.E. (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Events) industry of Bacolod City and empower aspiring flight attendants from all over the province as they take flight and soar towards their dreams. || Photos by Aliscape Production and Dodong Photography
