SM City Bacolod has launched “Art for Everyone”, a nationwide initiative by SM Supermalls that transforms mall spaces into public galleries celebrating Filipino creativity.

The exhibit, now open at the mall’s main atrium, features over 500 paintings and sculptures by 50 local artists from the Art Association of Bacolod–Negros (AAB-N).

The Art Association of Bacolod-Negros celebrates its 50th year, in partnership with SM City Bacolod, with the launching of the “Art for Everyone” exhibit and cutting the ribbon July 18 were (from left) AAB-N president Tey Ihvonie Sevilleno and founders Ana Feria and Rodney Martinez, Councilor Jason Villarosa, Ligaya Lizares – widow of AAB founder Edgardo “Budot” Lizares, Councilor Em Legaspi Ang, SM mall manager Julia Javellana, and Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr.

Bacolod’s Art for Everyone edition carries added significance as AAB-N marks its 50th anniversary, celebrating five decades of nurturing artists and promoting visual arts across the region. The collaboration between SM and AAB-N highlights a shared commitment to community enrichment through culture and the arts.

The exhibit forms part of SM’s larger goal for artists to connect to mallgoers, enabling them to also experience and appreciate their works, its press release said July 22, adding that from large-scale paintings to intricate sculptures, the variety on display invites appreciation from both casual visitors and art collectors.

AAB-N artists have over 500 art pieces of varying sizes and mediums displayed at SM’s Art for Everyone that will run until July 31.

This event gives artists a valuable platform to reach wider audiences and sustain their passion. Through initiatives like Art for Everyone, SM City Bacolod reinforces its role as not just a shopping destination, but a space that brings art closer to the public.

The exhibit runs until July 31, and is open to all during regular mall hours. ||
