A Cadiznon woman entrepreneur is now in charge of steering the Association of Negros Occidental Food Processors (ANOFP) Inc. to a new normal era of business.

Nannette Thiel, proprietor of Nannette’s Processed and Agri Products, and the newly-elected president of ANOFP, said this year’s installation banners the theme “Move Forward to a Stronger Food Sector”, to bounce from the bad effect of the COVID-19 pandemic which left the local food manufacturing business struggling economically up to this day.

She said the food processing industry should move as one to survive and be more receptive to novel ideas, given the fluidity of the time.

“We have to regroup, sit down, and assess our goals and priorities to create concrete and strategic plans to survive,” she said, adding that her administration will be centered on democracy and transparency.

ANOFP is a local group of food processors and aims to promote food safety, product marketability and excellence, and global competitiveness.

Theil also said that branding is important as it bears prestige and quality. The modification of the group’s logo will also be worked out since it serves as a marketing tool, not only for ANOFP but also for member-companies that bear the logo on its products.

“In short, ANOFP will join the market this time,” she added.

Thiel also called on emerging food businesses to join the association and be a part of the growing number of local food processors whose products are at par in quality with top brands.

“The more members, the merrier, as it will give us options for product flow and availability; also a friendly competition,” she added.

Aside from Thiel, the other officers to be installed are Arvin Chua of Foodman Industries Corp. as vice president, Rhea Cervina of D’jhor Bakeshop – secretary, Elizabeth Mondejar, AlterTrade Philippines – assistant secretary, Rosita Sarmiento of Ting Ting’s Food Products – treasurer, November Canieso of Plantsville Products – assistant treasurer, Glesida Diaz of GD Mom’s Kitchen – auditor, Catherine Manaloto of C.M. Ereneta Manaloto Food Products – PIO, and past president Elsie Gonzaga. — MNM
