An American octogenarian drowned at a beach in Barangay 2, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental on Aug. 28, the police said in a report.
The 86-year-old expatriate, whose identity was withheld by the police, was carried away by strong current.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim, who was temporarily staying at Zayco Land Resort, and his American friend, who is residing in Ilog town, went for a swim after eating lunch.
He was declared dead on arrival at the City Health Office in Sipalay City, according to the police. | GB
