The Tagukon Agricultural Tramline in Sitio Minaluha, Brgy. Tagukon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental has been repaired, and funded by the provincial government of Negros Occidental, through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.
The project, worth P2,026,251.25, was started last year and will soon be inaugurated by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Mayor Pedro Zayco Jr.
It will serve farmers in the hinterland areas of Kabankalan City and the municipalities of Mabinay and Manjuyod in Negros Oriental, by cutting their travel to just five minutes from the usual two hours, Dr. Aladino Moraca, president of the Central Philippines State University.
This is another milestone to the flourishing tourism and agriculture of Kabankalan, Zayco said in a press release from the city. — NND
