The pump prices of petroleum products continue to increase, with another hike to take effect tomorrow, Sept. 23.

Oil companies announced over the weekend that estimated per-liter price of diesel ranges from P0.50 to P0.70, gasoline from P0.80 to 1, and kerosene by P0.80 to P1.

Exact adjustments will be known today, Sept. 22.

This will be sixth consecutive week of price hikes for gasoline, and the fifth for diesel and kerosene.

“Prices of crude oil and refined fuel products have strengthened…on worries that Russian supplies could be disrupted due to increased aggression in the Russia-Ukraine war,” Jetti Petroleum president Leo Bellas was quoted in a Philippine News Agency report, adding that “the intensified attacks by Ukraine on Russia’s ports and refineries have already impacted Russian supplies; rising concerns of a broader escalation of the tension in the Middle East are also supporting prices.” | CGC
