Land Transportation Office-Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) personnel apprehended an unauthorized “colorum” van carrying eight passengers in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, Oct. 28.
The vehicle was intercepted while transporting passengers along the Dumaguete-Bindoy-Guihulngan route, with fares ranging from P180 to P270 per head.
The operation, led by the LTO-NIR Enforcement Team, forms part of the agency’s ongoing crackdown on illegal public transportation operations.
The LTO-NIR said that enforcement will continue to intensify against colorum operators.
It urged commuters not to patronize colorum vehicles, warning that unauthorized transport exposes passengers to severe safety risks and deprives them of essential legal protections. | TMD
