A show-cause order will be issued to the registered owner of a black Ford Everest involved in a road rage confrontation with a passenger-laden modernized public utility jeepney along Hernaez Avenue, Brgy. Mansilingan in Bacolod City, Jeck Conlu, regional director of the Land Transportation Office-Negros Island Region, said Oct. 26.
Conlu said the SUV’s registered address is in Luzon, and the agency will send the order by mail and urge the concerned driver to report directly to the LTO.
“If you are here in Bacolod or Negros, as much as possible, report to our office or we will come to your home because we will find out and identify you anyway,” he said.
As of last month, the LTO-NIR has issued over 136 show-cause orders, resulting in 54 resolved cases, driver’s license suspensions, revocations, and penalties.
The agency urged motorists to avoid confrontations, refrain from aggressive driving, and remain calm during challenging traffic situations. | TMD
