The pump prices of petroleum products will have mixed movements effective this morning, Oct. 6, with diesel down by P1.30 per liter, while gasoline will increase by P1.93/L, and kerosene by P3.30/L.

This will be the second straight week of rollback for diesel, following the P7.57/L price slash last week.

The Department of Energy said these changes reflect developments in the global oil market, amid continuing tensions in the Middle East that affect supply and prices.

The DOE also said it has approved and signed the final draft of the Philippine National Standard on requirements and safety practices for liquid petroleum products retail outlets.

The final draft will be endorsed to the Department of Trade and Industry-Bureau of Philippine Standards for promulgation, it said.

The proposed standard sets the technical requirements for the design and installation of conventional and overhead dispensing system retail outlets, including safety practices and provisions for the installation of electric vehicle charging stations, to “ensure the structural integrity and safe operation of retail outlets while supporting the efficient storage, handling, and retailing of petroleum products,” the DOE said in a statement. | CGC
