Kabankalan City Component Police Station operatives arrested a street-level drug suspect and confiscated approximately P102,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Purok 6, Barangay 1 in the city Sept. 30.

Alias “Jee”, 28, a jobless resident of Purok 3, Barangay Tan-awan, was nabbed after selling a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer.

The operation yielded roughly 15 grams of illegal drugs, along with the buy-bust money, cash, and other non-drug items.

The police said they properly inventoried all items recovered at the scene while using two body-worn cameras to ensure procedural integrity under Section 21 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The suspect remains in police custody and facing drug charges, while the seized drug items were submitted to the Negros Occidental Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory analysis.

“This accomplishment reflects our clear focus on crime prevention and crime solution,” Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region director, P/Brig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales, said in a press release Oct. 1.

“By taking illegal drugs and those who trade them off our streets, we protect our communities and address the conditions that allow other crimes to thrive. This is the kind of purposeful, intelligence-driven policing we are strengthening across the Negros Island Region,” Reales added. | TMD
