A total of 1,543 indigent senior citizens across all 14 barangays of La Carlota City in Negros Occidental received their third-quarter social pension assistance amounting to P4.629 million.
Facilitated by the City Social Welfare and Development Office, in coordination with the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs, each qualified beneficiary received P1,000 in cash monthly, or P3,000 for the quarter, under the Department of Social Welfare and Development program.
Assigned teams were deployed throughout the city’s 14 barangays to oversee the smooth release of the financial support intended for the basic needs of elderly residents, the city said.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office and the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs personnel, meanwhile, delivered the cash assistance directly to the homes of bedridden seniors and those with severe medical conditions. | TMD
