The Negros Occidental provincial government has delivered new medical equipment to the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) in Silay City as part of its continuing program to upgrade and modernize government-run hospitals in the province.
The equipment, which were recently delivered, include six cardiac monitors, one central monitoring system, three mobile operating room lights, and two automatic external defibrillators.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said the delivery is part of the provincial government’s broader effort to fully equip the emergency rooms, operating rooms, and delivery rooms of all provincial government-run hospitals.
The upgrades are being implemented under the administration of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson as the provincial government seeks to improve the quality of hospital services available to Negrenses.
The provincial government is also addressing space and storage concerns in its hospitals.
At TLJPH, two 40-foot container vans have been provided as storage facilities for files and supplies previously kept in overcrowded offices and hallways.
Meanwhile, the Hinobaan District Hospital has received 10 new hospital beds to improve patient accommodation.
Diaz said the continuing equipment and facility upgrades are intended to make provincial hospitals more functional, orderly and better equipped to provide essential medical care. | GPB
