The E.B. Magalona Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental has conducted a simulation exercise on school active shooting at the E.B. Magalona Elementary School as part of the efforts to strengthen preparedness and emergency response capabilities.
The activity held on Aug. 20 was carried out under the supervision of police chief PCapt. Jyan Carlo Mania and involved police personnel together with school stakeholders in a realistic scenario designed to assess their readiness to respond to a possible active shooting incident within the school premises.
The exercise focused on immediate reporting, proper emergency response procedures, effective communication, and close coordination among the Philippine National Police, school authorities, and other concerned agencies.
In a statement, the E.B. Magalona police said the simulation provided an opportunity to identify areas for improvement and enhance the coordination and response capabilities of all participants during critical incidents.
It also emphasized that preparedness, vigilance, and cooperation among law enforcement authorities, school personnel, learners, and the community are essential in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment. | GPB
