Leo Rey Yanson (LRY) was reappointed chairman of the board and president of the Vallacar Transit Inc. during the VTI’s annual stockholders meeting on Dec. 5 at the company’s principal office in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
During the board meeting, Leo Rey and his sister, Ginette, and their mother, Olivia, Charles Dumancas, Anita Chua, Arvin John Villaruel, and Daniel Nicolas Golez, were also re-elected as members of VTI’s board of directors.
Olivia, the Yanson family matriarch, was also re-appointed as treasurer and corporate secretary.
The VTI statement said that despite proper and timely notice, stockholders Roy Yanson, Ma. Lourdes Celina Yanson-Lopez, Ricardo Yanson Jr., Juan Manuel Lopez, and Ma. Susan Yanson failed to attend the meeting.
It added that siblings Roy, Celina, Ricky, and Emily Yanson were unable to attend the meeting because they are currently abroad.
The Yanson 4, composed of siblings Celina, Roy, Ricky and Emily, is locked in a dispute with their siblings Leo Rey, Ginnette and their mother Olivia over the control of the Yanson Group of Bus Companies (YGBC), the biggest bus company in the country.
“Despite all the turbulence experienced by VTI’s management in the past two years, VTI remains strong and resilient. It continues to be steadfast in its goal to serve the Filipino people. VTI continues to pursue its mission of helping alleviate the burden of every Filipino by providing safe and quality transportation to everyone,” it said.
The newly appointed Board is excited to see how they can continue to push boundaries to provide quality transportation to every Filipino in this great nation despite the challenges of the pandemic, the statement added. – GB
