Police have formed a special investigation task group (SITG) to track down the suspects responsible for the fatal shooting of an Indian national in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City, Aug. 4.
Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director, P/Col. Eugene Rebadomia, confirmed the activation of the task group, noting that they are now conducting closed-circuit television (CCTV) backtracking.
The victim, identified only as alias “Akshdeep”, was found dead beside his motorcycle in Purok Bayanihan at around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Witnesses reported that the victim was returning from the market when two individuals on board a motorcycle followed him, doubled back, and shot him, Bacolod Police Station 4 commander, P/Maj. Mark Joeil Reclamado, said.
The police said the victim had no criminal record at the station, and had only been residing in Bacolod for five months.
While the victim’s family operates a lending business, investigators are still verifying whether he was also actively involved in it. | TMD
