The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region held the simultaneous oath-taking, donning, and pinning of ranks of newly-promoted personnel July 29 at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City.
A total of 167 personnel received their respective promotions, consisting of 18 police majors, four captains, 12 lieutenants, 42 police chief master sergeants, five senior master sergeants, 20 master sergeants, 34 staff sergeants, and 32 police corporals.
The ceremony recognized the professional competence, unwavering dedication, and exemplary service of the newly-promoted personnel, marking a significant milestone in their careers, the PRO-NIR said.
It also reaffirmed the Philippine National Police’s commitment to a merit-based promotion system that honors officers who have consistently demonstrated integrity, discipline, outstanding performance, and an enduring commitment to public service.
Of those promoted, 41 are assigned at the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (PPO), 40 at the Negros Oriental PPO, and 23 at the Bacolod City Police Office, among others.
P/Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, PRO-NIR director, said that promotion is one of the most significant milestones in a police officer’s career, recognizing competence, commitment, and years of faithful service while carrying greater responsibility to lead with integrity, professionalism, and compassion.
Under the SAFE NIR Dial 911 Program, every promoted personnel is expected to deliver faster, more responsive, accessible, and compassionate police service that strengthens public trust, and reflects the organization’s commitment to serving the community, he added.
Cardiño recognized the invaluable support of the families of the newly-promoted personnel, and reminded them that their new rank marks the beginning of a greater mission to uphold the highest standards of the PNP through service that is truly felt by every Filipino.
The ceremony was led by Cardiño, with the Command Group, Regional Staff, personal staff, Mary Joy Sta. Ana of the National Police Commission, other PRO-NIR personnel, and the kin of those promoted. ||
