Fire hits school, home in Bacolod, damage reaches P3.2 million: BFP

Over P3.2 million in damage was logged in the two fire incidents that hit a school and a home over the weekend in Bacolod City, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.

A storage facility of the Antonio L. Jayme Elementary School in Barangay Mansilingan was destroyed, and its school clinic damaged in the fire that occurred yesterday morning.

Initial damage was placed at P960,000.

Meanwhile, a late-night blaze July 10 in Purok 8, Barangay Tangub, caused P2,250,000 in structural damage and displaced a family of five, the BFP said.

That fire destroyed a single-storey residential home owned by Philip Talorete.

The BFP said no injuries or fatalities were reported in either incident. | TMD
