Brgys 12, Granada win BCIF street, arena dance contests

Barangays 12 and Granada won first place in the Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival (BCIF) street and arena dance competitions, respectively, May 30 at Megaworld’s The Upper East.

Seven barangays competed in this year’s BCIF dance showdown, which transformed the township’s street into a lively celebration of music, movement, and community spirit, the Bacolod City Tourism Office (BCTO) said.

Aside from Brgy. 12, performers from barangays Granada and Estefania bagged the second and third spot, respectively. Other participating barangays are 2, 3, Sum-ag, and Tangub.

“The performances highlighted Bacolod’s unique culture and the story of its beloved chicken inasal through energetic choreography and vibrant costumes,” the BCTO said in a statement. “The dance competitions demonstrated the remarkable talent of Bacolod’s barangays and underscored the festival’s commitment to preserving and promoting local culture through performance arts.”

In the arena dance showdown, Granada bagged P20,000 in cash prize as champion, with barangays 12 and Tangub in second and third place, respectively.

“The contingents delivered larger-than-life productions, showcasing artistic excellence, creativity, and synchronized performances before a packed audience,” the BCTO stressed.
