Three unidentified assailants shot to death a 53-year-old man at home in Barangay Dolis, Calatrava, Negros Occidental on May 5.
The victim, a certain Jemar, was gunned down in front of his wife, initial investigation of the Calatrava Municipal Police Station showed.
The couple were about to leave when three armed men arrived.
They told the victim they wanted to talk to him.
After the conversation, the victim ran back inside the house, where he was followed and shot several times by the assailants, according to police investigation.
The victim, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds, was declared dead on arrival at the Calatrava Municipal Hospital.
Investigators recovered two bullet shells of caliber 9mm pistol and a fired cartridge of caliber .45 pistol.
They are looking into land dispute as among the possible motives. | GB
