Around 270 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated standard drug price of P1,836,000, were seized from three high-value individuals in two buy-bust operations in Bacolod City April 15.

The first operation was conducted at about 11:43 p.m. Wednesday in Purok San Roque, Barangay Tangub, Bacolod by operatives of the city’s Police Station 8, that led to the arrest of alias “Ar”, male, 26, of Purok Bocrus, Barangay 2, La Carlota City, and “Van”, 38, a female resident of Brgy. RSB, Purok Mainabyanon, also in La Carlota.

Seized from their possession were around 150 grams of suspected shabu, worth P1,020,000, additional sachets containing suspected shabu, a RUSI motorcycle, the buy-bust money, and other paraphernalia.

Less than 10 minutes later, another buy-bust operation was carried out in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2, Bacolod, by joint operatives of Police Station 2 and the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Bacolod City Police Office.

The police said that per a confidential informant (CI), alias “Rus”, 22, male, a tricycle driver from Purok Marapara in Brgy. Bata, Bacolod, was pushing illegal drugs in the area. Casing and surveillance operations were conducted to validate the report, and upon validation, the operatives, with the assistance of the CI, transacted with the suspect, the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) said in a report April 16.

Confiscated during the drug-bust were around 120 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P816,000, and other items.

The three suspects are now under the custody of the operating units pending the filing of appropriate charges against them, for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“These accomplishments underscore the intensified and intelligence-driven efforts of law enforcement in suppressing the proliferation of illegal drugs and dismantling drug networks in Bacolod,” the PRO-NIR said.

The operations also highlight PRO-NIR’s firm commitment in dismantling the illegal drug supply chain and apprehending offenders, it added. “PRO-NIR remains resolute in its anti-drug campaign, strengthening operations and emphasizing public cooperation in achieving a safer, drug-free region.” | CGC
