P1.4-M `shabu’ seized in Bacolod

Policemen seized an estimated P1.4 million worth of suspected shabu from an arrested suspect at Purok Paraiso, Barangay Banago in Bacolod City on Wednesday, March 25.

The buy-bust conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit (BCPO-CDEU) led to the apprehension of alias “Boss” and the recovery of about 210 grams of shabu valued at P1.428 million.

Meanwhile, eight individuals were arrested in separate operations in Negros Island earlier this week.

On March 23, a barangay councilor and two others were apprehended by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Santa Catalina, Negros Oriental.

The operation of led to the dismantling of a suspected drug den and the seizure of an estimated 20 grams of suspected shabu, a Glock 9mm pistol with a magazine containing ammunition, and assorted illegal drugs paraphernalia.

The village official, alias “Daniel”, 29, allegedly maintained a drug den in Sitio Nagbagang, Barangay Poblacion.

On March 22, alias “Roy,” was arrested in Barangay Bantayan, Dumaguete City,  yielding 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at P646,000.

Another operation on the same day led to the apprehension of alias “Chow-Chow” and alias “Thea” at Purok Villa Oto, Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City.

An estimated 25 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P170,000 were also recovered by operatives of the BCPO-CDEU.

An estimated P136,000 worth of suspected shabu were recovered by the police from two siblings during a buy-bust in Barangay Zone 9, Talisay City, Negros Occidental. | GB
