The per-liter price of gasoline will also breach the P100-mark, with the third straight week of double-digit increases in the pump prices of petroleum products set to take effect tomorrow, March 24.
Oil companies said that gasoline could increase by P9 to P12 per liter, diesel by P16 to P18/L, and kerosene by P15 to P18/L. The exact adjustments will be known today.
The current average price of gasoline stood at P91.60/L, diesel at P114.90/L, and kerosene at P143.79/L, depending on the gasoline station and area of operation, following phased hikes of P12.90 to P16.60, P20.40 to P23.90, and P6.90 to P8.90 per liter, respectively, starting March 17.
The double-digit adjustments in fuel prices are still due to soaring prices of oil in the global market, amid the escalating tensions in the Middle East. | CGC
