Himamaylan LGU worker shot dead

An unidentified man  gunned down a job order employee of Himamaylan City  in the neighboring La Castellana, Negros Occidental on Friday, March 20.

The victim, identified by the police as Julio Calo, 49, was shot by the assailant in front of his residence at Sitio Lapak Kawayanan in Barangay  Robles.

The suspect fled on board a white sport utility vehicle  towards the  poblacion.

Calo, who was also a  community radio station anchorman,  was declared dead on arrival at the La Castellana Rural Health Unit.

In a radio  interview, Robles barangay chairman Rolando Torres said  the victim had no pending complaints in the barangay, as investigators are still establishing the motive for his death. | GB
