Major oil companies have agreed to implement a staggered increase in the pump prices of petroleum products starting today, March 10, to help ease the immediate burden on motorists, delivery riders, and businesses that rely on fuel for daily operations.
Per advisory from the Department of Energy, Chevron will increase the per-liter price of gasoline at P1 each day until March 16, for a total hike of P7/L; diesel by P2.50/day, for a total of P17.50/L; and kerosene by P5.50/day or P38.50/L in all.
Shell will adjust the per-liter price of gasoline by P5.25 today, P2.65 tomorrow, and P0.85 on Wednesday, or a total increase of P8.75/L; diesel by P14.55/L, P7.30/L, and P2.40/L, respectively, for total price increase of P24.25/L; and kerosene by P21.60/L, P10.80/L, and P3.60/L, totaling P36.00/L in three days.
Petron will increase gasoline by P5.20/L today, and P1.80/L tomorrow and Wednesday, or a total price hike of P8.80/L; diesel by P11.60/L today, and P3.80/L in next two days, for total adjustment of P19.20/L; and kerosene by P19/L today, and P6.50/L tomorrow and Wednesday, or P32/L in all.
Seaoil, meanwhile, will implement a P11-13 increase in the per-liter price of gasoline, staggered at P5.50 to P6.50 each, today and tomorrow; diesel by P21-23, or P10.50 to P11.50 each day; and kerosene by P33.35L, at P16.50 to P17.50 these two days.
Total agreed to increase its pump price of gasoline to P10.20/L, staggered at P5.10 effective today and tomorrow; and diesel at P20.20 a liter, or P10.10 each day.
Jetti will adjust the pump price of gasoline to P9/L and diesel by P19, while Unioil said its gasoline will increase by P3 per liter, and diesel by P12/L, effective 6 a.m. today to reflect the changes in the international oil market.
The DOE, in a statement, encouraged motorists to check gasoline stations in their area offering competitive prices and available fuel discount programs, and for the public to remain mindful of fuel use and adopt practical fuel-saving measures as global market conditions remain uncertain. | CGC
