The Talisay City government honored outstanding Talisaynons, taxpayers, and partners in public service during the Pasidungog awarding rites in line with its 28th charter anniversary on Wednesday, Feb. 11.
Honored as outstanding Talisaynons were Kevin Parkinson for Volunteer Emergency Service, Michael Edward Claparols for Social Entrepreneurship, and Jay Ralph Zapata for Emerging Business.
The outstanding taxpayers in corporate category were Ayala Land Inc., First Farmers Milling and Marketing, Filinvest Land Inc., MBL Realty and Development Corp., and Suntrust Properties Inc.

Awardees in individual category included Melchor Camon m/t Gloria Lacson, Carlos S. Lacson m/t Aida Paterno, Emilio Camon, Leo Rey Yanson m/t Pia Yanson, and Estate of Lourdes Osmeña.
Special citations were also given to Kate dela Cruz for having ranked number two in Radiologic Technologists Licensure Examination (December 2025) and Elizer John Segayo, who ranked number seven in Master Plumbers Licensure Examination (February 2025).
In her speech, Mayor Rowena Lopez-Lizares said the milestone achievements of Talisay City are the results of unity and cooperation among citizens and government entities.
She thanked the taxpayers, whom she described as partners in progress, for their honesty and faith to the local government unit.
“Your contribution has sustained public service and foster development,” the mayor said.
As to the outstanding Talisaynons, Lizares said “you remind us that excellence lives among us”.
“Your service, compassion and commitment, inspire communities and gives pride to our identity as Talisaynons,” she added.
Lizares said that Talisaynons are also proud of having Parkinson as a partner in public service.
Parkinson, a British national who married a Talisaynon, taught disaster preparedness among volunteers, who become rescuers and emergency responders. | GB
